We Tried

You’d think after yesterday we wouldn’t trust English food right?

Wrong.

Today Mum made fish for dinner, with just salt and pepper. She of course added a bit of paprika to add a bit of flavour but it didn’t work. Looking at it, it didn’t look like much as I’m used to seeing fish coated in red tandoori masala or all-purpose seasoning. I had a bit and thought it didn’t taste of anything but I didn’t say anything.

Last time I said something negative about the food my mum started saying I am so quick to criticise other people and stuff.

Anywho so I quietly ate the food until mum lists the ingredients to us and we’re like no wonder it’s so bland!

Mum then attempted to eat it and decided that she had to add some flavour to it to make it edible.

So now we know Asians like flavour and English food doesn’t cut it.

Mum’s reaction

So over the weekend for some reason I’ve been watching reaction videos and today I’ve been watching a Japanese Man reacting to a Chinese man watching cooking videos. Why? I don’t know, I’m bored.

So one of the videos was by Jamie Olive Oil… Oliver. Anywho so the Chinese man was so offended so I went back and messaged mum to ask her what she does making the same dish.

A Mum life hack recipe

Shadowstrike is a fussy eater when it comes to vegetables, she doesn’t like cauliflower, spinach, broccoli ect (in her defence, H doesn’t eat cauliflower or brocoli either). But Mum noticed if Shadowstrike can’t see or taste it she would eat it without complaint so she tends to hide it in the food she makes and tells her afterward. (Momma’s got some Slytherin kitchen skills). So here’s a healthy pasta recipe Mum, Shadowstrike and H make often at home.

England Fact

Did you know in the 90s there was a programme called Goodness Gracious Me, and in that programme, two Asian characters created a slang term that used the Urdu word for underwear? So in the 90s, people used to go around saying “kiss my chuddies!”

Mum was telling me about it yesterday when I asked her for 90s slang for the Harry Potter fanfics I’m writing. It took me a while to comprehend this!

One Piece fun fact

I’ve been reading the One Piece manga because I am NOT watching the anime because nearly 1000 episodes is a few hundred too much for me. Anyway, I’m only just finished the tenth volume this morning.

Anywho, Nami our main girl character is really cool and everything but I noticed with my small understanding of the French language that her foster mother’s name is “Belle Mรจre” which translates to beautiful mother. Which is sweet ’cause Belle Mรจre was a great Mum.ย

I’m sure loads of One Piece fan already knew this but a fact is a fact so ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ.
